Tuskarr like it because of that expansive shore, and the Riplash Ruins gives the naga a perfect view of anyone approaching across the ocean from the south. It’s too isolated and too barren to be desirable and has too much shoreline to be defensible.
The Borean Tundra is not an important part of Northrend. Scourge creatures, lone scouts straggle over from the lake area.
Sometimes blue dragons from Coldarra also fly over the tundra from time to time. Naga live near the south end, in the Riplash Ruins. Nerubians wander about as well, but only in small packs. They harass the tuskarr from time to time, but every time the tuskarr gather their forces and send the Drakkari running. They have no city in the tundra, but live in several camps, none big enough to have names. Drakkari wander the tundra, but not in any significant numbers, most are content to roam alone or in small packs. Tuskarr will fend off hungry Drakkari, and even fight wayward nerubians, and are formidable foes but they never attack anyone without a good reason. Tuskarr mainly care about fishing, whaling and protecting their villages. However, they keep near their villages, and one can go for days without seeing another living creature. Tuskarr are the dominant presence in the Borean Tundra. Coldarra is an island just off the coast. Important landmarks of the region include the Tuskarr capital of Kaskala and the Riplash Ruins. Drakkari trolls, blue dragons, the Undead Scourge, and naga also inhabit the zone. Yet for these intrepid pioneers, the true challenges still lie ahead.Ĭommento di roby10Located in the far western edge of Northrend, the Borean Tundra (pronounced BOHR-ian, not boh-REHH-an) is the home of the Tuskarr. The Alliance and Horde have journeyed from far and wide to reach Northrend. The sinister serpentine race is using massive generators to melt the surrounding glaciers and ice caps, threatening to flood the entire region. The Alliance has established a smaller presence here as well, and as both factions prepare to launch an offensive against the Lich King and his undead armies, they must first address the more immediate threat: the naga. Inhabitants of the region have also noted an increased tension among members of the blue dragonflight, especially regarding the use of magic. This ancient site was created by the blue dragonflight, and many adventurers attribute the increased activity here to the reemergence of the blue Dragon Aspect, Malygos.
Nestled within the valley of Coldarra, the Nexus is a column of magical energy surrounded by levitating earth-covered rings. Garrosh and his orc forces have also discovered the enigmatic taunka, an ancient offshoot of the tauren race that up until now had been thought lost forever.īeyond the Westrift Valley, which separates the tundra from the mountainous region of Coldarra, explorers have recently witnessed increased activity at a magical site known as the Nexus. The two groups have since formed a bond, and the Horde has sworn to aid their new allies in any way possible. Shortly upon arriving, the Horde met the tuskarr, a walrus-like race of nomadic fishermen. In recent months the Horde has established a dominant presence here as the young and daringly aggressive Garrosh Hellscream has founded the rugged orc fortress of Warsong Hold.
